I read this on a tee shirt worn by a person at the Delhi airport. It read

Friends are hard to find

Difficult to Keep

Impossible to forget

This simple and beautiful message triggered a tsunami of thoughts in my mind.

What we are taught

Sharing multiplies happiness and divides pain

Hard facts of life

Easy to distribute happiness but difficult to share pain. People are happy till you are happy once you are in pain very difficult to share as very few people left to partake it.

Happiness is a social thing to be shared but pain is a very lonely animal which has to be dealt alone.

Yes true friends are hard to find and just when you think you have found them you learn that a lot of them only call you a friend as it suits their need for the moment. For them

Friends are there for a reason

Friends are friends only when they want

And the worst part is when you need them they think you are a pain.

The only friends the world today wants are the Facebook and whatsapp kinds where you keep chatting up for hours without connecting with the person .the only emotions are the constant barrage of emoticons flashing on your phone screen.
